The Face of Belief.

Sometimes, as humans, we do this thing where we try to talk people out of believing in us.

When someone we love affirms us, we can brush it off in various ways. “I’ll just disappoint you.” “I can’t.” “I’m too young.” “I’m too ordinary.” “I’m not good enough.” "You don't know me."

But if we’d just look up, we’d see their face. We’d see the look in their eyes. We’d know they’re not buying it. And we’d begin to relax. Begin to trust. Dare I say – begin to like ourselves.

We do this same thing with Jesus. We fight Him, fight His belief in us. And it’s time we cut it out.

Because I know His face and His eyes. And He’s not buying it.

May I give into His face of belief, and put my own into practice.
