Impromptu: Hannah

When I was 8, Hannah became one of my best friends, and remained so for several years. Then one day, I overheard that she and her family were moving away; I immediately started crying. I prayed every day for over a year that she would move back. And she did, eventually. Later, we attended different high schools and didn't see each other, save for once or twice a year. We remained good friends, though, communicating via phone calls and e-mail. (God bless technology!) Hannah just came home from college for Christmas break, and we made immediate plans to hang out. And, because I am me, I had to document it in my favorite way: with my camera. :).

Thanks for putting up with me, Hannah. And thank you for all the memories we've made together. You know the kind I mean. The tomahawk-throwing, diving-into-your-pool-in-the-middle-of-December, "my-bathing-suit's-going-to-Hee-Haw!" moments. Here's to many more memories and fun times.

In light of the season, I just thought I'd encourage all of you to reach out to one another. Call a friend you haven't spoken to in a while, and wish them a "Merry Christmas!", just because. Don't let your friendships fall by the wayside. It's never too late to make a new memory with an old friend. :).

"Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
and never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot
and days of auld lang syne?

For auld lang syne, my dear,
for auld lang syne.
We'll take a cup o' kindness yet,

for auld lang syne..."

Without wax,
Sarah.
