Reflection: Snapshots of '09, part one.

I wasn't always interested in photography. I took pictures, but that was it. I just took pictures. Christmas of 2006, my parents gave me a camera. A camera wasn't something I asked for; it wasn't even something I thought I wanted. That camera ended up being one of the greatest gifts I've ever received. I took it with me everywhere; took pictures of everything. Even then, I didn't consider myself interested in photography; it was just something I did. Later, when people started complimenting my photos, I realized that photography had become more than a hobby to me - it had become a passion.

Looking back, I suppose you could say I tumbled sideways into photography. Or maybe, it was photography that tumbled sideways into me. ;).

Featured below are some snapshots of places and things I encountered in 2009. I really forced myself to think outside-the-box this year, and wound up finding interest where I least expected it. There's beauty everywhere. We just have to look for it.

Without wax,
Sarah.
